Error Messages
If you receive a message such as Forbidden or Page Not Found, you may have missed or misplaced something along the way. There are a few options to try first prior to stressing out.
1. Filezilla Disconnected
It is possible during the process that Filezilla disconnected from the server. If it did, your website may not have uploaded as it should have. Try the following:
In Filezilla, click on "Quick Connect" again.
If it prompts you to decide if you truly want to take this action, click yes.
Observe whether Filezilla begins showing movement in the status section on the upper lefthand side.
If a message says "directory listing successful," then proceed with the last step again of checking your website.
2. Directory Hierarchy Problems
You may have misplaced your "index.html" file. In order for the server to recognize your website, the "index.html" file must be in the first level of your Public_html folder.
